A self-study course for KAGes as part of the internal training program to promote appreciative communication.



What is it all about?


In the healthcare sector, the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully is essential. In order to strengthen your employees in this area and improve cooperation between colleagues and managers, we have developed a practice-oriented self-study course on "Appreciative Communication" together with the KAGes eLearning Coordination Team and experts Irmgard Wallner and Karin Pichler-Kolaric.

The practice-oriented self-study modules contain typical examples from everyday working life that show how crucial conscious communication is. Interactive exercises and reflection questions directly involve the learners and help them to transfer the learning content to their professional reality. In order to further increase the practical relevance, the LKH team produced its own real-life videos, which take up typical scenes from everyday working life and illustrate the consequences of appreciative and non-appreciative communication.


In order to convey the topic in an entertaining and informal way, two mascots were specially developed to guide participants through the course and provide tips on how to communicate and listen in an appreciative manner, and valuable additional materials such as worksheets, checklists and instructions were developed and made available for download for each module to help participants put what they have learned directly into practice. These documents were carefully prepared in consultation with the experts in order to support self-reflection and reflection within the team.

Our highlights and learnings from this project


This self-study course offers the target group far more than just theoretical content on the topic of communication. Thanks to the practical design and the provision of valuable tools, learners are taught how to communicate in an appreciative manner in their day-to-day work and how to deal with conflicts in a solution-oriented way.


The result of the creative and didactic exchange between all those involved is a tailor-made course that is geared towards the professional reality of the target group and conveys the topic in a relaxed and entertaining way without being preachy.
